Over the past year or so, The Knife has become one of my favorite, and no doubt most posted about, bands. Well, according to Pitchfork's 8.6 review of the duo's new LP Silent Shout, they have made their Kid A.
I continue to marvel at The Knife's ability to craft songs that are at the same time so robotic and emotional; so mechanical yet entirely warm. This track from the new record, in which Karin Dreijer Andersson is "singing feebly into a ceiling fan from a hospital bed" (Pitchfork), would almost be scary if it wasn't so sad.

I highly recommend picking up The Knife's previous two LPs (their self-titled debut and Deep Cuts), as well as any singles you can find.
Mental Combat has the ultimate Jay Dee tribute post. I was a big fan of Slum Village and of Jay's production in general...he will be missed.
Cindy Hotpoint has another new Yeah Yeah Yeahs song...the b-side to "Gold Lion".
Finally, I'm not too familiar with Maximo Park's work, or Field Music's, but I really like this:
