Beirut: Live in NYC
Beirut performed last night at The Knitting Factory in NYC, his first show since being christened "the next big thing" by every blog on Earth (including this one). Since I am obviously stuck in Texas, the following photos and words are not my own. I had a friend, who was in NYC on business and had never heard of Beirut, agree to take some shots and promise to send me an honest review (via text message, of course).
"young kid. eyes closed. anxious. passionate. not very engaging, and a bit sloppy. mentioned blogs/bloggers. nice falsetto that carried well. clearly a proficient instrumentalist. way too much dead air/false starts/tuning in between songs. lots of room for improvement. tremendous promise."
