wtf and thangs
I'm out of town for a couple days, so here's what's good around the internets:
Zidane wins the Golden Ball, and why not? That headbutt was pretty ill.
Analog Giant has another remix of CSS' "Let's Make Love"; this one's by the mighty Diplo.
So Much Silence has some cool tracks from Five Deez, whom he calls "a peek into the future of hip-hop".
Speaking of hip hop, Spine Magazine has a so-so new track from Talib Kweli.
Summer songs: Slate Magazine's got 'em, and so does Marathonpacks, in the form of his very first podcast.
Pitchfork's Marc Hogan again rips a blogger favorite, this time picking on Michigan's Anathallo. Thing is, I actually agree with a lot of what he had to say about Anathallo's Floating World: a little overwrought at times, "wildy ambitious", etc. But a 2.7? Give me a break, man; we get it, you're going for shock value.
You want a 2.7, I'll give you a 2.7: go listen to Bebe Defeituoso's ("the defective baby") cover of Le Tigre's "Deceptacon."
I'll be back later today with some actual content...
