ACL 2006: Day Two

I have to run, but here's a quick photo recap from Day 2 of ACL. Highlights included Ben Kweller using a tampon to stop a nosebleed, The Raconteurs (seriously), The Long Winters, Explosions in the Sky, and TV on the Radio. And I still stand behind the proclamation from yesterday that Ghostland Observatory played the set of the day. They were incredible, and I think it was the first time I've ever seen a band with a 1:30 set time at a festival play an encore. Can't wait to see these guys in a club setting.

Being that Chris said they were a highlight - "(seriously)" - I'd imagine that they didn't suck very hard at all. In fact, they were probably good if they were a highlight.

Jack did have some guitar problems for the first 2 songs. I too really enjoyed the Ghostland Observatory. Their energy and set was awesome. The Waterloo tent was sold out of their album, so I had to go the main store and pick up the last one they had. Also, experiencing TV On the Radio's "Wolf Like Me" live is a must for any die hard rock fan!

Actually, The Raconteurs were awesome. I think that they were in my top 3 shows of the entire festival. I thought they would be good, but I didn't expect them to be as great as they were.

I was expecting the raconteurs to be blah as well (let's face it, the white stripes coasted through their last two albums), but Jack and company were definietly a highlight of that day (if not the entire weekend)...

And yes, I was shocked at how amazing ghostland observatory was. I am now a fan!!!

By the way, I didn't know you were down in the photo pits with me all weekend. I would've said hello if I would've known to look for you...

Ghostland Observatory was easily our breakout band of the festival. Planned to stop by for a song or two and were blown away. Stayed for the entire set plus the encore...how cool was that. Definitely a fan. They play at Emo's 10/5.

Both The Long Witners and The Racounteurs were outstanding, actually. I figured that TLW would be, but was floored by the Raconteurs set.

Chris -- great seeing you this weekend. Don't be a stranger.

geez a lot of you pple are snobs. The Raconteurs set was the best I saw all weekend, which is saying a lot because Explosions was absolutely magical. Those guys were amazing. Ghostland was pretty darn awesome too, I was surprized.
