I was able to get some decent video of Sufjan's brand new song, "Majesty Snowbird," at his show last night at Austin's gorgeous Paramount Theater. Again the video quality isn't the best, but the sound is actually pretty decent, and will give you an idea of how amazing the new song is. Watch the video here.

The whole song is 9-10 minutes long.
Sufjan's music is the sound of Prozac, absence of inspiration, and unawareness of (or a spoiled rotten indifference toward) world affairs. These images are repulsive. I dispise the quite false sense of importance. I detest his smooth jazz music and laughably bad fashion gimmicks. Most of all I'm just bummed about the decaying periods in every nation's lifespan (we're in Rome around 400 AD here, people, just read about it and take a look around,) the ones that let sophists like Sufjan and Devendra get away with such nonsense, hailing them all the while for their petty flair. I'm smarter than the writers of Pitchfork who work so tirelessly to give this mediocrity a bigger, brighter career. I see more clearly into the future because I have a better understanding of the past. This artist will continue living the good life because of his looks and the cleverness of his con, but his contribution to music never existed, and he will be forgotten in his own lifetime.
Although in your defense, I did spell "despise" incorrectly. It's been a long day of pissing on the Pitchfork cult, which is actually nearing Christianity in both its size and ridiculousness at this point.
Wow. somebody (see above posts) needs to CHILL. and apparently REALLY feels the need to be heard. However, I do agree and feel that I am a little bit tired of Sufjan at this point. Although I do thoroughly enjoy several of his songs I have never understood the whole obsession. Anyway, the new song is decent and thanks for sharing. I enjoy the blog!

i saw you walking down guadalupe (you looked confused?) & then at the taping yesterday. nice seats! my friend & i were pretty shocked by how close they put those cameras to the musician's faces - that HAS to be a bit unnerving. anyway, i'll email you when i get that show put to cd...it might be a couple weeks due to some software issues. also, to the anonymous person, i'll let chris put the new song up if he wants to because i don't have a way of doing that, unfortunately.
i was at that show, and yes i loved that song as well. i've got 2 partial videos of Seven Swans and Chicago. they're a little over a minute each. i'm sure i could post them if anyone is interested. i was third row on the left side.
i was at the saturday show in austin. it was one of the best shows i've ever seen. the paramount theatre was a treat in itself. everything was amazing - acoustics, visuals, seats, crowd. it couldn't have been more perfect.
