Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret Hymn
Over the last few weeks, Do Make Say Think seem to have been my daily soundtrack. The uncertain daily temperatures of Texas match with the band's chaotic nature, and the recent arrival of early nights seem to work with the decrescendos and moments of near serenity. The swells are so well done on Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret Hymn, and specifically on "Ontario Plates."
After their show in Dallas, I know Chris paused the blogger norm of non-stop new music and returned to Broken Social Scene's Broken Social Scene as well as exploring the past catalog of Do Make Say Think, their touring mates/Toronto neighbors. It was the perfect time for that tour. It worked to revive my interest in these records, and the stage energy of both bands is always completely riveting.
Whether I'm at home, at work or in the car, I almost always find myself air-drumming around the 5:05 mark. Do you air-drum or air-trumpet and if so, at what point? Or maybe, it's just me.
