more new New Pornographers: "Myriad Harbour"

Another new one from the New Pornographers; this time we get "Myriad Harbour," one of the three Dan Bejar-penned jams from Challengers, and in my opinion, the best song on the whole record. Gorgeous harmonies from Neko, Carl, and company, and Bejar doing a slightly less-cryptic-than-usual ode (of sorts) to New York City, equals one of the catchiest songs of the summer. And yeah Dan, I think everyone wonders how the girls there got so pretty.

Challengers comes out August 21. Pre-order it, get a bunch of extra stuff.

elsewhere:

Now that I've heard "Derek" and "Fireworks," I fully understand why Noah Lennox wanted the rest of the album to leak.

I don't really care for this one... The title track is the one with the REALLY beautiful harmonies :)

I am finding that the more Bejar has to do with songs, the more I like the new pornographers...

Great call and answer harmonies in the verse. I'm going to have to pick this one up when it is released.

Its my favourite song on Challengers, and the one that grabbed me the quickest. I'm not as convinced about the other Dan Bejar songs on the CD, they are 2 of the weaker songs on it.

No, no, it's all about "Unguided."

Honestly, I feel like the song doesn't flow with the rest of the album. I laike the song, but it seems like "oh yeah, Dan's still here so we gotta do some of his songs." Especially with the album rock feel of the rest of the album.

No9t ripping on Dan either, I like Dan. He's really a talented musician.
