While browsing Domino's site recently, we noticed that the label was re-issuing Young Marble Giants' seminal 1980 Rough Trade release, Colossal Youth, along with other collected works, thereby making it a "complete package of Young Marble Giants' recorded tracks." Despite an extremely short-lived existence, the band had a profound impact on tons of musicians, including Kurt Cobain, Thom Yorke, Stereolab, Belle & Sebastian, and countless others. This track was my introduction to Young Marble Giants, and it showcases the band's signature minimalist arrangements and Alison Statton's detached (and almost cold) but beautiful vocals:
