When we spoke with Panda Bear a few months back about his masterpiece Person Pitch, he explained how he pieced much of the record together in the same manner a DJ would create a good set, and that he ultimately intended the music to be danceable. So it's only natural that Spank Rock DJ Chris Devlin thought Panda Bear's "Comfy in Nautica" was fit for a club remix, which he contributed to this mix on Discobelle. Here's what Devlin told Discobelle about the song, and his remix, which comes complete with extra humpback whale samples:
"I really like this album and this song in particular...its erie and beautiful...I used alot (of) weird underwater bass noises and for this mix i layed a lot of whale noises over the track as well...I know that Noah is a Panda Bear but i (thought) the whales sounded good and kept the ocean summer vibe alive..."--Devlin of Spank Rock

I like when artists use interesting sounds over their music. Manu Chao uses a lot of radio sounds. His new album, "La Radiolina" is coming out Sep. 4. Until then, you can listen to the song "Rainin' in Paradise" on his myspace. It's really cool!

shitty remix. seriously, he didn't remixit at all - he merely threw in a muddy sounding intro and interspersed the original track with a few snippets of that same intro theme.
In all honesty, you people need to tighten your game up a bit and open your ears to some real friggin' music if you think this remix is quality....

umm, "white silk" (nice name) you should probably listen to the track in the context of the full mix before you talk shit...i posted this particular snippet of the mix in hopes of getting some AC and Panda fans to listen to the full Sink or Swim mix, which is really fucking good. that is all.
folks get pretty dark about this sort of thing eh? why does everyone have to be a judge, either enjoy or don't enjoy it, at the end of the day it doesn't matter. you can listen to summin else, there's plenty out there. no need to be wagging the finger just cos it doesn't shake your boat silky one....
