Jason Schwartzman stopped in Dallas earlier tonight for a Q & A following a special sold-out screening of The Darjeeling Limited, preceded by its "companion" piece, Hotel Chevalier. The short session turned into a 90 minute conversation with the audience, during which he was genuinely enthusiastic, open, and engaging (and at times, hilarious). He revealed his love for Animal Collective, Emitt Rhodes, Garbage Pail Kids: The Movie, and Steve Martin (among other things), talked a little about his solo recording project, Coconut Records, and about the role music played in the writing/creative process for The Darjeeling Limited (check the iTunes playlist that Schwartzman, Wes Anderson, and Adrien Brody put together here). He also shares our appreciation for outdated and obsolete picture machines, and was nice enough to take some Polaroids for us to share:
