new white denim video: "ieiei"
Here's the brand new video for White Denim's "IEIEI." The footage was shot by the band with a few of those disposable CVS camcorders while out on their first North American tour, then edited/animated by our kind of weird friends over at Birds on Fire. Pretty tight, but we're big fans of cheap-ass photographic equipment:

They're also opening for Tapes 'n Tapes at Metro in Chicago on 4/11. And... OK, for all the dates on Tapes 'n Tapes' North American tour through 5/17.

That fucked up cross in the start of the video is in Effingham Illinois. I used to see it all the time on 57 going between SIU and Chicago. At night it is lit up, and if you're going north at night, it appears out of nowhere going around a turn. The first time I saw it I was like "Jesus Christ!!!"...so I guess they got their moneys worth.
...and Ryan, the people behind that cross have a website: www.crossusa.org. There are crosses of simliar stature in the middle of Tennessee and in the Texas panhandle (I am fairly certain that the Texas one came first). I did a four month road trip criss-crossing the country last fall, and I kept running across the Tennessee one.
woah, that's a cool video, props to the editors. denim put on a great show at the 'mess with texas' fest, can't wait to see 'em again.
