Since posting about it last week, I've been (figuratively) wearing the hell out of that Quiet Village record (as in, it's all I really want to listen to). I'm still not sure how you'd classify it, but those dudes utilized a dizzying array of obscure and awesome samples from all over the place in putting together the epic Silent Movie LP. My current favorite song on the record is "Gold Rush," which samples this badass jam from little-known '60s Scottish prog-rockers Writing on the Wall.
