no age x new era contest

no age x new era

Remember that Panda Bear New Era cap we gave away a few months back? Well now Randy + Dean of No Age have gone and designed this extremely limited (and extremely gangster) fitted in collaboration with New Era + the Fader, and we have one to give away. Just leave us a comment with your name and your favorite album of '08 so far; see, apparently I'm running out of decent contest ideas. Anyway, the winner also gets one of those Fader/SoCo Esau Mwamwaya/BLK JKS 7-inches we mentioned recently. I'll pick a winner next Friday.

At Scion Radio 17 they’re doing it big in ’08.

XLR8R kicks off their 4th broadcast with a pop-reggae masterpiece by Brenda Ray, and other hot-off-the-mixer highlights including new tunes from Ghostface Killah and Zomby, plus a rewound classic by rave pioneers SL2. Then bask in the audio magic of XLR8R's Best of 2007 artist, Switch, with an extensive interview and a sampling of several of his collabs and remixes, including work with Santogold, Herve and Mync Project. Lastly, prepare for liftoff as they launch into experimental hip hop orbit with a Mush Records mega mix by Antimc. This episode of XLR8R Radio is dedicated to the memory of pioneering reggae vocalist and producer, Mikey Dread.

To listen click here: http://www.scion.com/channel17

You can tune in 24/7/365 to hear music and interviews from some of the nation’s top DJ’s and acts.”

Nouns is obvisouly the best record of the year so far! Nouns hits like a title Wave of distortion but the confusion is beautiful. the only album I could compare it to is Strawberry Jam. its incredible how well No Age and Animal Collective can mask a pop album. Aside from 2 guys sounding bigger than broken social scene they also have wicked cool personal politics, Randy and Dean seem like good guys.

BUT... I did see Deerhunter play Microcastles at that secret show in brooklyn and Im calling it now- Microcastles will be the best album of 08. I would have gone with At Mount Zoomer but I think the new Wolf Parade tack "call it a ritual" is pretty weak. are they loosing their unpredictible attack? Iv been loosing faith in them since they got Dante DeCarlo.
If you even bothered to read all of this then Thank you GVSB!
