evenfall

"evenfall" by agnes montgomery

Evenfall is the upcoming LP from Paris' Sebastien Schuller (out May 25), and the album's stunning collage cover artwork is by one of my favorite artists, the amazing Agnes Montgomery. You may recall Montgomery's glorious Pool Party, which graced the cover of Panda Bear's Person Pitch, and is probably the most uncannily fitting album artwork of, well, ever. Listen to Schuller's new song from Evenfall, "The Border," at his myspace page. In the meantime, I was somehow unaware of the existence of this cover of Schuller's "Weeping Willow," by Austin's Jared Van Fleet, aka Sparrow House:

just discovered this post... thanks for sharing that recording, chris. i guess you probably didn't know about it because i never really showed it to anyone except sebastien. although (of course) it's fine with me if people want to listen.

however, i would like to point out that i had the help of the brilliant trombonist ben lanz and the wonderful singer/songwriter guillaume villadier (sidi ali), who were kind enough to play horns and mandolin, respectively. they make the recording, in my opinion.

anyway, it was just something we did for fun in a tiny apartment one afternoon.

sebastien and agnes are both amazing talents. i can't wait to hear this new record.
