harlem signs with matador
We've been hearing the rumors for a minute, and it's now official: GvsB faves Harlem have signed with Matador to a "worldwide, multi-record deal." Congrats, dudes. They'll be recording their 2nd LP this summer, due out on Matador in early '10.

Absolutely. These guys are total tools. I've seen them at many parties around Austin and they are Dicks with a capital "D". Did anyone go to that Dobie dance party? You'll know what I'm talking about.
Lot of jealousy in this here comment thread. Regardless of your (anonymous) personal feelings toward the band, this is much deserved.

I'm not jealous of them (it would be cool to be signed by Matador), I just think people should know that they do have an annoying "act" as B.A. Kerl pointed out. I guess you can say they've "read the book".

A little bizarre that the Teenage Cool Kids guy is ripping on Harlem. The internet is strange. At least he's leaving his real name.

Man, the only act I can think of is that their lyrics are actually fun to listen to/sing along.
But for someone in Teenage Cool Kids, it could be really tough to get over singing lyrics that aren't incredibly embarrassing. So I understand where he's coming from.
I just want to remind everyone that drugs are cool, just for a little bit. So experiment and always remember, you keep doing em eventually they will bring you down. Awful name for an album.
