summer mix

Here's a summer mix, inspired mainly by this oppressive heat haze we've been experiencing in TX over the last week or so. Seriously, kids can't even go to a baseball game here these days without almost dying. Featuring a bunch of stuff I've been listening to a lot lately:

This is very kind of you. It's exactly what I needed today. It's hot in Dallas, geez.
This is excellent. Thank you!
Just what I needed with temps back up in Phoenix. Thanks, and for the other two leads as well.
great transition from sunaraw->arch-M->family portratis.
muy bien! this heat sucks...this track list does not
Nice, lazy mix.
it's hotter than two chicks at the same time here in Florida. Thanks.
thanks you, sir.
Love how this starts off as a breezy upbeat summer thing, then gets warped and sweaty before smoothing out again.
The Vibes and Map of Africa shit is wild, do they have a full album?
love it
it's winter here in australia but im travelling to barcelona in 3 weeks and this will be the soundtrack to my holiday now.
RAD!
dope mix
Yeah, it's even hot in Minnesota this week, haha. High 90s all week. Thanks for a lift!
nice mix, and thanks for pointing out Toro Y Moi lately. i've made a summer dance mix, myself, and posted my favorite albums of the year thus far. i'm surprised more places haven't done that this year. http://www.theplanetpluto.net/2009/06/summer-mix-midyear-music-lisztomania.html
oh, and i happen to like the strange notion of Shaq going to the Cavs, but i'm also only an hour from Cleveland.
Maryland weather never treats it's people correctly, this mix though... love.
where can I download some of, if not all of, the above...?
God bless you. Maybe these three mixes will blow this consarned frosty SF wind away.
thanks a lot for putting family portrait on the mix. the summer mix is way chillen and parsimonious. look forward to the future
- Family Portrait
you guys kick ass
my 5 hour roadtrip from illadelph to pittsburgh just became a whole lot more BEARable and summery-like. much appreciated
another horrible shitshow. might as well have just posted the WAVVES album
Toro Y Moi is one of the greatest undergroung things I've heard from the blogs recently along with pearl harbour
and by "the blogs" you mean gvsb
Delightful. Despite the fact that it's mid-winter here in South Africa. I've even had to put on a light sports jacket. Nonetheless, well-played.
love this mix. made my day
How do I actually download this? This mix is soo ill, but how do I put it on my itunes?
just right click/save as to download
it looks like quite a few jams that have graced our pages now reside in your summer mix. Ladies : 2. GVB : 1.
someone has definitely been hitting the BF ladies page lately.....
thanks for the comment gprecs, but i always credit where i find everything. check the archives.
chris,
I wasn't talking about GvsB...just kinda thought the bxf post was a little humorous, and they said what I have felt in the past about some other posts (who obviously didn't credit). i wasn't a GvsB reader, but I am now. just RSSed. sorry if feelings were hurt. I really like that you actively clear things up.
thanks Tom. yeah i feel the same way, which is why their post was a little disappointing. i always credit (and have credited the BxF girls specifically in the past for the Family Portrait song) where i find things, without fail.
i don't know which "4-5 songs" from the mix they were referring to specifically, but if you look back at the original posts that contain all the songs, i've credited where I found them, unless the artist sent them to me directly.
Outstanding mix, man. Probably listened to it 5 times this past weekend.
You inspired me to make my own Summer09 Mix. Took a little of yours, mixed in with some dance-y stuff.

This is great, It's winter in Australia at the moment. But I'll definitely be dragging this along to picnics and summer outings. (Y).
What's the incredible song that begins around the 39:00 mark (again and again / over and over / I can't do anything right)? I'm having trouble discerning from the track list.
Thanks!
that's "mega secrets" by Family Portrait
I think that might be my favorite song in the whole set. That is just tops. Cool how Washed Out blog-blew-up over the weekend. Seeing them all over.
still such a great mix
