ghana special

Soundway Records, purveyors of the incredible Nigeria Special reissue comp from 2007, are back with Ghana Special, an equally adventurous and vibrant collection of funky/soulful Ghana Soundz from the late 60's all the way up through the early '80s. Tough to pick just one highlight, although Honny & the Bees' perfect lilting afro-psych jam "Sisi Mbon" has been on repeat all morning, and is probably as good a place as any to start:

honny & the bees :: sisi mbon

Even better, this thing is getting a proper release via a 5xLP box set next week on Soundway. Get it here.
