No Chris, you're supposed to write about what the fans want, not what you want. That's why they're fans, right?

That's cool, thanks for the reply. And I agree with dude bro toro y moi is unreal. I found his 7" at Waterloo in Austin when I went to funfunfun. It was good because I missed him on his first tour.

Love the blog I've been a reader for years

Is there ANY way to get those jj tracks as mp3s? I was never able to find the "Welcome Back, Kotter" one after the video came out, and now they've done the same with "Baby": A video, but no mp3! Ahh! I love it so much!

I'm don't think Sleigh Bells are that good, but it does seems like an unspoken reality that if Pitchfork gets to a band first (which is rare), GVB isn't going to blog about them.

I'm just calling it like I see it.

did pitchfork get to them first? or did chris choose to not blog about them first?

its a chicken or the egg thing... an annoying chicken and an incredible edible egg....

how would you know if he didn't get to it first if he doesn't write about it though...
maybe just didn't like it so did a skip

nah, the blogs were all over sleigh bells before pitchfork. that's irrelevant though, not a fan either way.

I think Chris does a pretty fair job of posting about what he's into, despite where pitchfork lies on the matter. It's why he's one of my favorite bloggers.

i think it's great that at least one blog thinks for themselves. i do like "ring ring" by sleigh bells though. chris- hilarious what you said about that other sleigh bells song getting a 9

Great call Chris!

Sleigh Bells suck.

Please never post them.

So by this point is become clear that just about anyone can make this Glo-Fi sound.

Sleigh Bells managed to jump on the band wagon but the fact that have bad songwriting shows.
-Too lo-fi
-Too simple
-Too brash
-Too "Aren't I offensive?/I don't care about anything" for good taste.

I agree with dude about pitchfork, once they find something they blow it up, i feel like people listen to pf and pf only and its like some fucked up music cult... btw sleigh bells kicks ass
