I hope that isn't the name, but it's good that they're finally dropping hints about something Joanna-related on the horizon!

I bet you anything shes pregnant. Her new album is titled Tokyo, but I guess this can be a single release date. Does Joanna Newsom release singles?

no chance JN comes out with a new record this year. She came out with two last year.

The last full album from her was three and a half years ago, Hongry Fries.. I think it's time for a proper follow up!

ps. Am I the only one for whom the main page of Gorilla vs Bear is difficult to read now? The text is appearing straight on top of the wood-grain background which makes it hard to distinguish.. Is it supposed to be like that or is my browser f*cking it up?

hmm...it definitely shouldn't display that way, Richie. What browser are you using? It looks fine for me in Safari/Chrome/Firefox.

Supposedly this thing is three discs, according to this guy:

The specific post has since been removed, but there a still a few references to having the album a few pages back:

"fallingandlaughing asked: Do you have no heart? Or is it just that the heart you do have is a tiny blackened cinder?

If this is about J. Newsom, it is just that I want to keep receiving free stuff from Drag City, and they have been VERY strict about this one. I basically had to write a short essay explaining why they should let me hear this and how I would not let anyone else hear it."

Seems unlikely, and I have no indication of their credibility. But, Amazon has the album up for Preorder, and it's $23 on CD, $35 for the vinyl. That's awfully expensive.

The plot thickens!

Also, comments in this article suggest it isn't entirely unlikely.

"It was unclear how many of the songs covered in the course of the two and a half hour set would ever be recorded, but there was never a sour note or 'should be cut' moment to be heard. If anything a double album here would make perfect sense, and be one of the most enjoyable albums I've heard in ages."
