cults + forest family records

We are beyond psyched to announce that we've teamed up with our good friends at Weekly Tape Deck to start a new record label called Forest Family. We've got some big things planned for the label's very near future, and we couldn't be more excited about our debut release, which is also the first-ever release from mysterious duo Cults, featuring the much-loved, sunny 60's-pop-inspired instant summer anthem "Go Outside," backed with the equally infectious "Most Wanted" on the b-side. The 7" single, which is limited to 400 copies pressed on bright yellow vinyl, is officially out on April 20, but you can pre-order it here now.

That's great but would be even greater if there was a song or two not widely available.
Awesome news. Who did you do the press through?
You guys better not pussyfoot about this like every other blog-gone-record label.
Press some damn LPs!
You guys have great taste so its really not that risky.
And I agree with Scott, if you're gonna bother with the 7" at least give it an exclusive B-side.
no pussyfootin, we can assure you
fresh
Hey guys, congratulations. This is great news! Seems like a long overdue venture and I'll definitely be watching the releases. Always good to keep the vinyl flowing from trusted sources.
You guys got me obsessed with Fan Death and now Summer Camp so I am excited for this!!! Congrats!!
Pussyfoot is always a hilar word.
Great news. You guys have good music, so you should do well. Good luck!
YES!

I'm pretty psyched out about gvb starting a label, but why is this 7" so expensive? 11ppd for a single doesnt sound good.
I'm hoping that iamamiwhoami turns out to be an artist on their label. Ha.
But regardless, this news is crazy exciting. For reals.
Congrats on getting people to spend $11 on a 7". Awesome show, great job!
$11 is not a lot, get over it. Paypal fees, shipping, packing and production are expensive.
and thus, the era of gorilla-vs-bear-core could finally begin
Why does postage cost me $24 to ship to 7" singles to the UK from you guys?! That's insane...
hey Alexx, sorry that's a mistake. we're working on fixing that, not sure why paypal is overcharging for shipping.
if anyone already paid too much for shipping, we're working on refunding the extra shipping costs. it looks like it's only happening when you order multiple 7"s.
Frank T.,
I run a label. Color vinyl. Color art. Tons of inserts, including CDRs. Pressing, packaging, Paypal fees, shipping, blah, blah, blah. Plus I'd wager we have to spend more on promotion since we don't have a blog radio program and all kinds of other sweet music connections. Yeah, it's expensive...but not that expensive.
Honestly, good luck with the label. Vinyl is rad and getting people to pay for music is admirable. I just like to start every internet conversation with some form of bitching.
well this is joyous news!
It's about damn time!
Um, wow! nice patter. would love to get service from the label?!? - www.djsmilesdavis.com
Awesome news!
Get it Got it So Goooooood! Ready for summer now
Chris, you are THE opinion leader.
Also bought this, but I will agree that $11ppd is kind of ridiculous for a 7", sure it's exspensive, but it isn' that exspensive.
daamnn. any way I can still grab one of these?
sold out noooooooooooooooo
This is great news! best of luck to you.

any idea of a rough breakdown of the colours pressed? was expecting yellow, but was surprised to find a black 7" waiting for me (it's cool -- i'm not a huge coloured vinyl fan anyways).
black??? as far as i know, you got the only black. email me if you'd rather get a yellow one
awesome! i'm cool with black, but thanks anyways. can't wait for ffr002.
7" sold out!??!!? Nooooooooooooooooo! Is there any hope?
