dark days

Slumberland is reissuing Sound of the Westway, the debut LP from '80s Swiss post-punk girl group Chin Chin. The record, which came out in 1985 and has been out of print for years, will be released on vinyl only with "new mastering and artwork" by the label (in conjunction with Mississippi Records) on April 13. Here's Westway's sweetly melodic, C86-leaning opening jam, "Dark Days":

I used to think Mississippi Recs were really cool until i found out that they're comps don't give any royalties to the artist. That is fucking pathetic. I hope they're still not stealing from African musicians?

One one side, i'm glad that someone is putting out unique music, but then again, if its done in such a con-artist way, i think i'd rather not have that music. There are a lot of good african reissue labels out, who i'd rather support, for doing things honestly.

nice song by the way

If you had told me this was a new Pains of Being Pure at Heart song I would have believed you.
