grow

Another hit from the unstoppable Yours Truly, featuring Barcelona 'blisscore' pioneers Delorean performing a gorgeous version of Subiza standout "Grow" at Montjuïc Castle in Spain. Shot by Nate Chan:

Delorean's Subiza is out June 8 on True Panther.

off-topic, but feel like it needs to be said that your Sleigh Bells bashing has gotten kinda obnoxious and unprofessional. not sure if Alexis turned your drunken SXSW advances down, if the "consummate Brooklyn band" factor is giving you hipster anxiety or what.

as a blogger with a measurable degree of "power", it just seems tactless to jump on every opportunity to tear someone down, especially when you haven't articulated the reason for your distaste in any coherent or detailed way. wielding your influence like some vendetta — see also Pitchfork's unceremonious treatment of Wavves last year — is something i never expected to see from you.

A little surprised by anon's poorly reasoned assertions. Opinions, in essence, aren't unprofessional and, with all due respect, it is not mandatory to like any band, let alone one whose talents are highly suspect.

Regarding professionalism, Pitchfork's is so lacking that it's hard to taken any of these arguments seriously. Their language and approach at times can be so painfully juvenile, vulgar and classless you'd think

I personally appreciate Chris' stance on most bands, not excluding "Sleigh Bells", and find his considerably modest and understated approach in all matters refreshing and mature. Part of me wonders if a Sleigh Bell is behind that comment to begin with.

Turning the levels up, copping Deerhoof / MIA, playing the Gibson SG with extra distortion over simplistic beats and easy-to-execute textures hardly warrants the sort of embarrassing praise bestowed upon these kids. I'm sure they're not bad people, it's just that the song is just not a banger, nor interesting, nor good, nor cool, nor gaining steam with true, earnest buzz.

I would be happy to recreate something comparable this Sunday at my place with anyone in this forum who cares to join. We'll compose a song with an ABAB structure, set the levels to 9 on Garageband, hit record, and release the mp3 via Google Docs by sundown.

Lets just focus on how great the video is. Ignore Anon's comments, they have nothing to do with the video and it is unfair to both delorean and yours truly.

I'm sorry, but i don't know what delorean and sleighbells have to do. Can someone explain it? Isn't this about delorean's video? Nice song!
