mexican summer

Our friends at Mexican Summer just sent over a list of their upcoming releases, and in addition to some pretty rad and extremely limited Record Store Day exclusives (see above) that will be available on Saturday, they've also got some great releases planned in the coming months from the Mantles, the Bitters, the Samps (Cole of Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti), Ramases, Dunes, and more. Here's a preview, courtesy of the label:

the samps :: FXNC
the mantles :: lily never married
the bitters :: the new real way
ramases :: balloon
dunes :: handle

the samps :: FXNC - YES - Hope the rest of the songs are as good, APHG album was a bit of a letdown after round and round which was awesome track.

the mantles :: lily never married - didn't really feel

the bitters :: the new real way - YES, reminds me of The Kills

ramases :: balloon - can tell instantly its 70's, great song, reminds me of Patto, gets good at around 2:20

dunes :: handle - was alright but her voice didn't stand out enough, would be really good song if her voice recording was crisp and clear

seriously dude? those are things we used to have called "cassette tapes," i mentioned that they're Record Store Day exclusives, and you can read their titles right there on the cover.

Wait, so Mexican Summer are putting out cassette versions of their titles for Record Store Day? Is this only for specific stores because I don't remember reading anything about this? Or are they going to release the titles on cassette on their website on Record Store day?

yeah, cassette (as well as vinyl repress) for those 3 sold out titles. i believe like all Record Store Day exclusives, they'll be available at participating indie record stores only.
