Okay. This is officially where this "sound" has jumped the shark. I get a lot of this chill / ambient / loose / summer / psych / freak / drug / beach / haze / witch / drag / lo-fi / glo-fi / no-fi stuff, but I think it is starting to degrade to the point of "not being music anymore." I know that is technically not correct, but I technically beg to differ. At what level of fidelity loss and water-damaged art crackle will this stop? Atari menu blips + dishwasher whirring + tape hiss + sound machine set to "waves crashing" = hit new indie track. Then, strap an old betamax camcorder to a dog's collar, let him run around your family picnic and pool party for awhile... and, presto. Music video. If this is the future, send me back to 1990.
that'd be a tight vid, guy
go back to 1990 then dude. matthewdavid is pushing music forward, check out any of his other works. and Dogbit is also equally amazing. When the two get together, magic.
---Also, Off Balance Atlas, I love the video dude,
"its not working out" line hits right when yall are trying to tow Tim's car with Zach's truck. awesome video dude. so watery.
this is a sound/group to look out for. in my biased opinion. Whenever I DJ this track at a party everyone's heads turn right before they start dancing!
I liked the episode where The Fonz jumped the shark!
Total shark jumping, I agree! Though you're not allowed to make such statements in these parts, or the indie police will come get ya...

wow you sound like a twerp
See - they got you too! Be careful, they'll take away your indie badges as punishment.

I think that is super critical to say that certain timbres make something "not even music anymore". I'm excited to hear different tones and textures besides distortion and electric guitar, which I feel is overused to the point where I closed-mindedly think that's "not even music anymore". Making the same structured pop song through different instruments and effects has made music sound different for decades and to me, this is still the same kind of pop song but just exploring different timbres. I don't know what type of music you listen to though this may make no sense to you.
